Just a year ago today, the weather was gorgeous at Emily’s parents home in Connecticut, setting the perfect day for Emily & Jason’s private home wedding. We are thrilled to share these photos with you on their first anniversary and relive such an amazing day.
Emily & Jason are wedding professionals themselves, owners and photographers of Kan Photography. So, when they asked us to plan their big day, we were honored. They came to Whim just about 3 months before their wedding, and knew exactly how they wanted the day to feel. But with the short time frame and added logistics of a backyard wedding, they knew they needed a planner. Working with them was a dream and we loved getting to know them better! Emily and Jason are travelers and foodies, so they wanted to treat their guests well, with a carefully curated menu and delicious drinks inspired by their travels. They hired the fantastic chefs from Culinary Breakdown, who created a family style menu guests raved about, complete with ceviche, gazpacho, skirt steak and strawberry shortcake. Not to mention, the sangria and lemon Sgroppino were flowing at the bar! Emily adores peonies, so her friend and bridesmaid from Rouvalis Flowers made the bouquets, while Whim created the centerpieces. The property was perfect for their wedding, with a ceremony in the garden, a beautiful Sperry tent in the front yard for dinner, lawn games and drinks in the orchard, and smores under the stars. And last but certainly not least, their friend and amazing wedding photographer Katie Noble captured the day and all of it’s joy! Happy Anniversary Emily & Jason!! Love you guys!! xoxox – Whim
