Ok, this blog is long overdue. ?Last September, we had the?privilege?of being a part of a wedding for one of the coolest couples EVER. ?Sara and Justin’s Willowdale Estate Wedding?was a?beautiful summer day, and it couldn’t have been more amazing. We loved the couple from the moment we met them. Sara is a nurse and Justin is a doctor. They both shared a love for Pike’s Place Market in Seattle (Justin’s from that area) and Sara’s wedding planning binder blew our minds! 😉 ?We talked floral design and learned about her love for all things?anemones, ranunculus, burlap and pinterest. ?Justin was liking the idea of ferns for his pin-on, since ferns were the official green of his hometown. And his mom was a florist. We just adored them. ?Later in the summer, we took Sara and her mom (LOVE HER!) to the flower market in early August to pick flowers for the big day. It was so much fun, we wanted to hang out with them forever. ?And, they invited us to stay for their cocktail hour at the wedding – could this couple get any better? UM..actually.. YES they could..read on!
On the wedding day, Moira arranged the flowers. As soon as I walked into the studio, I screamed. I just knew in my heart Sara would love everything. ?Moira had wrapped our farm bottles in burlap and packed our burlap table runners for the big day. The flowers were bright shades of purples, greens and yellows.
When we got to the wedding, Sara was enjoying every minute of the big day and was overjoyed when she saw the flowers. And at the same time, we just LOVED seeing all the little details Sara did herself (check out the adorable burlap banners!) and her dress was phenomenal. ?We were thrilled to grab a bacon wrapped scallop or two and a hug from the couple before we headed home for the night. ?The next morning, we got a call from Sara – a long and loving message about how wonderful the flowers were. We couldn’t believe she went above and beyond to call us on the day after her wedding! So yes, this couple?truly?couldn’t?get any better. ?Wait, they could. ?Now, even a year later, Sara is constantly supporting Whim and checking in. ?She stopped in and bought a centerpiece during our Thanksgiving flower sale & food drive, wrote a Yelp review that brought us to tears AND sent us a text to check in after the Boston Marathon bombings.
Justin + Sara – this blog may be long overdue, but what’s even more overdue? ?A dinner or drink together soon!! ?xoxoxo ?- Nat & Moira
